Health Inspectors, who are posted in these wards, are responsible for the following:

  1. Routine inspection for the detection of nuisances such as overgrown wastelands, deposit of refuse on street borders, dumping of refuse on wastelands.
  2. Ex-post control of business premises to ensure payment of appropriate trade fees.
  3. Report on general cleanliness for remedial actions by the Sanitation Section.
  4. Attend complaints from members of the public, ministries & other institutions.
  5. Serve notices in lieu of summons upon parties to attend Court.
  6. Ensure compliance with existing municipal regulations by establishing contraventions on all those who infringe same.
  7. Control of hawkers.
  8. Inspection of public lavatories.
