Health Inspectors, who are posted in these wards, are responsible for the following:
- Routine inspection for the detection of nuisances such as overgrown wastelands, deposit of refuse on street borders, dumping of refuse on wastelands.
- Ex-post control of business premises to ensure payment of appropriate trade fees.
- Report on general cleanliness for remedial actions by the Sanitation Section.
- Attend complaints from members of the public, ministries & other institutions.
- Serve notices in lieu of summons upon parties to attend Court.
- Ensure compliance with existing municipal regulations by establishing contraventions on all those who infringe same.
- Control of hawkers.
- Inspection of public lavatories.
