Introduction

The Finance Department is headed by the Financial Controller, who is assisted by an Accountant/Senior Accountant, and consists of the following sections :

  2. Expenditure
  3. Pay Administration
  4. Income
  5. Store

 

The functions of the Finance Department include among others:

  1. Preparation and Monitoring of Annual Estimates
  2. Preparation of Financial Statement
  3. Identifying funds for Capital Projects
  4. Financial Management of Projects
  5. Management of Investments of Council
  6. Monitoring and Control of Debtors
  7. Advise the Chief Executive & Council on Financial matters
  8. Collection of all Council’s revenue
  9. Responsible for procurement of goods and services
  10. Effect payment for Supplies and services
  11. Processing of Council’s monthly payroll
  12. Managing insurance matters
