THE CIVIC MACE
The civic mace was presented to the Corporation by the Mauritius Commercial Bank in 1962. It was used for the first time on the day of its presentation at the Council meeting held of the election of the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor. The mace-bearer too has a gown since 1965.
